Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A young woman’s partially nude body with a slit throat was discovered Tuesday morning in a sesame field located in Bhatupara area under Raninagar Gram Panchayat, within the jurisdiction of Raghunathganj police station. The body was found lying in the middle of the field in a bloodied condition by local residents, who immediately informed the police.
The Raghunathganj police arrived promptly at the scene, secured the area, and recovered the body. The deceased was then sent to Jangipur Sub-Divisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Local residents reported that the victim was not from the area. According to a resident, Abul Kasim, the location is isolated, and the woman’s identity is still unknown. Police and local sources have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to establish the identity of the victim and identify any suspects involved in the incident.
